Salkantay Treks 5d/4n to Machu Picchu, specially designed with unsurpassable views of the snow-capped mountains of Humantay and Salkantay, the sacred Apus of the Incas. Salkantay Treks Itinerary
1.- CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAYPAMPA
We leave Cusco early in our private transportation towards the town of Mollepata, during the journey will pass through some villages like Izcuchaca and Limatambo. We are going to drive for 3 hours approx.
Once we get to the town of Mollepata we will have our breakfast after that we will continue driving to the starting point of our hike Challacancha, here we are going to organize our day pack then we are going to start our hike to Soraypampa
In Soraypampa we are going to have our lunch after that we are going to visit the Humantay Lake it takes 1 hour from Soraypampa to the lake all the way ip to the lake, then we will enjoy the view of the lake and the glacier of humantay (5217msnm) later we will take the same way down where was our lunch then we will hike up toward to our first campsite of Salkantaypampa it takes 1 hour from there we will see very clear the famous mountain of Salkantay (6264 meters), where we will have our dinner and rest.

2.- SALKANTAYPAMPA – CHALLWAY – COLLPAPAMPA
After the breakfast we are going to start our hike, this second day is the hardest day but full of adventures that will cross the highest point of Salkantay (4600 msnm) means. The wild mountain, the imposing snowy where we can appreciate the majesty of the area and take some pictures.
During the journey we will find several piles of stones called Apachetas. From our campsite to the highest pass takes 3 hours approx. and the trail is going in Zigzag to the top with a beautiful views.
Once we get to the top we will have beautiful views and we will see the glacier of Salkantay very close to us finally following the trail now we are going to descend to the valley for about 3 hours after that we will have our lunch then we will continue walking for about 4 hours approx. down to Chaullay then Collpapampa where is our second camp. Dinner and overnight.

3.- COLLPAPAMPA – BEACH (Sawayaco) – SANTA TERESA
We are going to start our day with a beautiful breakfast, we are goign to start our hike down to Sawayaco where we are going to spend our time in the trail with a wildlife abundant from the area as the different types of orchids and observe waterfalls, coffee plantations, bananas and a lot of fruits.
Continuing the walking down we will reach to Sawayaco also called the beach where we will have our lunch later we will take a car heading toward the town of Santa Teresa (1,645 m) our third point of the camp, once we get there we are going to put up our tents and take a little rest for later heading to the hot spring of Cocalmayu where we are going to enjoy our body in these beautiful water and finally we are going to come back to Santa Teresa to have our dinner and rest.

4.- SANTA TERESA – HYDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES
At dawn we will be in a full tropical vegetation, after our breakfast we continue our trek to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo, to reach this village takes seven hours approximate and along the route will pass through hydroelectric where we will rest to enjoy our lunch, I followed it continue walking with a few stops at different points because it is very rich in flora and appreciate all the passengers around us, arriving in the afternoon to the mentioned town that is known as Aguas Calientes spend the night in a hostel.

5.- AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
By the following morning the breakfast is going to be in your hotel or hostal then we will take one of the first buses to the most important archaeological site Machu Picchu, once inside we will go to the top of the citadel to begin our guided 2 hours approximately, where you will visit around the Inca citadel, visiting the sites main as enclosures, squares, sacred fountains, temples agricultural and urban areas, so that you then have and enjoy their free time, like taking photos, etc.
Finally in the afternoon return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes and to address the train station then you will take the train to Ollantaytambo, where we are going to wait for you at the bus station then you will drive to Cusco for 2 hours approx. Finally we are going to drop you off at your hotel. End of our services.
